When Rita Dahdah, personal style and lifestyle blogger; Christian Houjeij, Partner at Canadian Streetwear brand FFO; and Rina Saleh, Founder of eco-friendly lifestyle brand, RSPR Concepts & Design; first met during Doha’s Fashion Trust Arabia event, they all immediately bonded on the strength of their Lebanese roots and how heartbreaking it was to witness the economic and political strife their country was facing. Slowly, their friendship with each other grew as did their desire to do something to raise awareness about Lebanon’s worsening situation.
“This project is an ode to our homeland. We had each done things individually but it felt great to be able to join forces and collaborate with friends to do something more,” said Rita. All proceeds from the sales of the FFO x RSPR t-shirts will go to The TMF’s (The Masuma Foundation’s) initiatives in Lebanon. TMF focuses on survival and health, education, the environment and the empowerment of women.
The RSPR x FFO Unisex T 19 is an over-sized antimicrobial shirt (killing the bacteria that cause odor; meaning less washes and more long-lasting fabrics) and is made from 19 recycled plastic bottles. They were designed by the talented team at FFO to depict wind or breath on the back, symbolizing the desire to give Lebanon a tiny sigh of relief.
